Why adapt the flexibility and cushioning of your bit ?

You’re probably wondering why you should adapt the flexibility and cushioning of your bit to your horse’s needs. That’s what we’ll explain in this article.
Flexibility, cushioning… Why this idea?
The idea of offering multiple cushioning and flexibilities didn’t come out of nowhere: I-Bride was inspired by other sporting disciplines. In these other sports, the equipment used had to be adapted to respond to repetitive joint and muscle stress. And it’s thanks to the cushioning and flexibility of their rackets or sneakers, for example, that their movements are more precise and controlled, while preserving the proper functioning of their body schema.

Adapting to the needs of the rider/horse pair
The equine industry is constantly evolving to provide maximum comfort for horses, and their well-being is at the heart of our concerns. It was after observing other sporting disciplines and the findings of Harold Feugas – an equine dentist who regularly discovered numerous pathologies in horses’ mouths – that the I-Bride bits were born.

Help with bit selection:

If your horse is :

- Has good contact, choose Medium cushioning
- Leaning on the bit, you can choose Strong cushioning
When it comes to flexibility, you can choose between :
- Flex + allows the jaw joint to flex as much as possible to support the lower jaw and free the tongue.
- Flex – reduces the jaw joint to support the tongue and free the lower jaw.
